The newest issue of Total Film boasts a cover story about Christopher Nolan's bat-capper "The Dark Knight Rises" in which co-star Tom Hardy talked about
Bane's mask and how it's actually more comfortable than it looks.
"It's not as bad as you might think. You just put it on. Work out where you drool goes. That's it. Mask work is good fun. This one wasn't painful; there was the stunt mask and there was the up-close on for the sexy glam shots."
Nolan also talked a bit about ending the trilogy - "Our telling of the Batman legend has always been centered on Bruce Wayne's story. We somewhat left the audience hanging at the end of the last film in terms of Bruce's story and we want to bring it full circle and have a complete tale. We've a great ending we've been wanting to tell for some years now. We're just thrilled to have been able to bring our story around to its conclusion."
The brutality of the sequel will indeed top the last one. The theme of this chapter is said to be 'pain' unlike "Batman Begins" which was 'fear' while "The Dark Knight" unleased 'chaos'
Christian Bale Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt Marion Cotillard Josh Pence, Alon Aboutboul and Nestor Carbonell star along with a return of the trilogy's ensemble cast such as Morgan Freeman Gary Oldman and Michael Caine Cillian Murphy and Liam Neeson might also be making cameos.
Matthew Modine Tom Conti Joey King Daniel Sunjata Diego Klattenhoff Christopher Judge "CSI: Miami" co-star Adam Rodriguez and Burn Gorman take on secondary roles. Rob Brown and Italian actor Massi Furlan have small roles in the film as well
Nolan called action on the DKR from a screenplay he wrote with bro Jonathan Nolan, from a story by Nolan and David S. Goyer that features Bane (Hardy) and Catwoman (Hathaway) plotting to take down Batman (Bale).
The sequel is set to hit theaters on July 20th, 2012.
