Bell Is "The Lifegaurd"

Kristen Bell has signed on to play the lead in the indie drama The Lifeguard says Deadline New York.

In the pic Bell will play Leigh, a reporter on the verge of 30 who abandons her life in New York City, returns home to get her high school job as a lifeguard, and starts a dangerous relationship with a 16-year-old delinquent.

Liz W. Garcia wrote the script from which she will direct.

Mamie Gummer, Martin Starr, Alex Shaffer, Joshua Harto and Amy Madigan also star.

Mike Landry Carlos Velazquez Harto and Garcia will produce the film.

The production will shoot in Pittsburgh this month.
