The studio has confirmed that it is going to reboot "Fantastic Four" with "Chronicle" director Josh Trank set to helm. Jeremy Slater was just hired to pen a new script draft about four individuals who gained superpowers after exposure to cosmic rays during a scientific mission to outer space.

The first Fantastic Four in 2005 and its sequel 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer in 2007--both helmed by Tim Story--grossed $620 million despite awful reviews (I liked em both!). Fox wants to restore some credibility and quality to the property
Expected to be Trank's next project, production will begin after both "The Wolverine" and the as yet Untitled X-Men First Class Sequel" sequel are complete. None of the original cast members will return.
Meanwhile director David Slade has dropped out of doing the "Untitled Daredevil Reboot" due to a scheduling conflict with the upcoming "Hannibal" TV series.
David James Kelly has been hired to re-write that script.
At one point Fringe TV series writer Brad Caleb Kane was at work and said to be adapting the "Born Again" comic book story arc, by writer Frank Miller that sees our hero go insane and destitute at the hands of the villain 'Kingpin', as well as his subsequent struggle to build a new life for himself The great storyline originally appeared from issues #227-233 in 1986.
Robert Pattinson Garrett Hedlund Bradley Cooper and Xavier Samuel, who like Pattinson, worked with Slade on "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" were rumored to be up to play the lead at one point.
Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark will produce the remake.
Fox must get the film into production this Fall or risk having the rights revert back to Marvel.
