ALF Gets A Movie

Sony Pictures has inked a deal to acquire the film rights to classic 1980's sitcom "Alf" with the inent of turning into a feature film--which will combine CG and live action says Heat Vision.

The series followed a friendly and furry, wisecracking alien from the planet Melmac  and his life with a regular family. The creature (a puppet on set) gets into trouble with government forces that are on his trail.

Jordan Kerner ("The Smurfs," "Inspector Gadget") will produce the film show creators Tom Patchett and Paul Fusco.

Fusco, who voiced the character on the show, is expected to do the same for the movie.

No writer or director is attached at this point.

Never thought the schtick was fun or funny...
