WB Gets "Beautiful Disaster"

Warner Bros. has beat out CBS Films in a bidding war for the film rights to Jamie McGuire's novel "Beautiful Disaster" says The Hollywood Reporter.

Described as a Fifty Shades of Grey for the young adult reader, the story follows college good-girl Abby Abernathy, who doesn’t drink or swear. She makes a bet with the lean, cut and tattoo-covered Travis Maddox - if she wins he must abstain from sex for a month, if he wins she must live with him for a month.

Though the books have similar origins as initially self-published prior to being picked up for publishing by a distributor, 'Disaster' avoids the kinky sex elements that permeates 'Shades'.

Donald De Line is attached to produce the adaptation.
