Mass Effect Film Gets New Writer

Morgan Davis Foehl has been tasked to work on the script for the film adaptation of Electronic Arts and BioWare's video game series Mass Effect at Legendary Pictures says Variety.


Mark Protosevich ("Thor," "I Am Legend") wrote the first version of the script at the time that Legendary obtained the rights a few years ago.

The epic science fiction game takes place in the year 2183 and follows Commander Shepard of the SS Normandy who leads a team on a mission to defeat an ancient alien race that invades the galaxy every 50,000 years, wiping out all organic life.

Foehl, an avid fan of the game, and his idea caught the interest of the film's producers Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, Avi Arad and Ari Arad.

Foehl really got noticed when his work made the Black List in 2009 with Whatever Gets You Through and then he also scripted an adaptation of the comic Crosshair,
