O'Connell Gets "Starred Up"

Jack O'Connell is attached to star in the new prison drama "Starred Up" says Screen Daily.

The story centers on a 17-year-old boy who meets his father for the first time since he was a toddler when he is transferred from a young offender’s institute to an adult prison where his dad is serving time.

"Perfect Sense" and "Young Adam" director David Mackenzie calls the shots on the project from a script by poet and psychologist Jonathan Asser.

Production kicks off early 2013 at the Crumlin Road Prison in Belfast.
