SkyFallout: Logan Writes Next 2 Bond Films

As the new James Bond film in the series Skyfall bowed in the UK today with a slew of positive reviews to its credit from American and European media outlets--007's future on film looks pretty bright..

Now that Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc has put financial struggles behind them, producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are quickly moving ahead with plans for "Bond 24" and have it ready for release as soon as possible. To that end The Daily Mail reports that a schedule has been put in place that would see the next film begin production around this time next year for an October or November 2014 release.

Given the 'every other year' strategy the franchise has tried to employ over the years--The four year gap between "Quantum Of Solace" and "Skyfall" is the second longest period between films in the series.

Meanwhile, Deadline reports that "Skyfall" writer John Logan has already been hired to pen both the next film and Bond 25. Logan will do so on his own rather than collaborating  with series regular scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, (the writers of the last five Bond films), who are moving on.

Purvis and Wade did the initial drafts of the first 2 Daniel Craig era filns with Paul Haggis then re-wrote and polished. Logan served in the Haggis role on "Skyfall" at director Sam Mendes' request and did such a great job that he was asked to stick aroound.

Logan reportedly pitched an original two-movie arc to Broccoli and Wilson and has already begun  writing the scripts. If plans work out, this would be the first Bond film with a storyline to be played out over multiple films.
