Foxx Will Shock In Spidey 2

Jamie Foxx is playing bad guy Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 says Variety.

In the comics, Maxwell “Max” Dillon is an engineer who gains the ability to control electricity after he’s struck by lightning, and becomes the supervillain Electro.

Sony Pictures had recently sent out character breakdowns to talent agencies, and  Electro was on the list--and since we saw lightning in the post-credits scene in the last pic--the choice of bad guy was known. Also on the list was Harry Osborn, Peter Parker's best friend and eventual enemy who was played by James Franco previously. Harry remains uncast

The character was created as white but I am color blind about stuff like this--I can't wait to see how he does in the role,  He has the chops.

Foxx tweeted out yesterday afternoon "Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night. Costume fits well.”

Andrew Garfield is already set to return as Peter Parker and Emma Stone in talks to reprise her role as Gwen Stacy.

Shailene Woodley has won the role of Mary Jane Watson, the perennial red-headed love interest of Pater Parker in the Spidey comics. The role was previously played by Kirsten Dunst in director Sam Raimi's Spider-Man Trilogy.

Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner are writing the script based on a previous draft by James Vanderbilt. "The Amazing Spider-Man" director Marc Webb will be back calling action.

Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach will produce.

The new film is due to begin production early next year to meet its May 2nd 2014 release date.
