Howard Joins "Prisoners"

Terrence Howard has joined the cast of the long gestating thriller "Prisoners" says Deadline.


Aaron Guzikowski's lauded script centers on a small-town carpenter named Keller (Hugh Jackman) whose young daughter and best friend are kidnapped. After the cops fail to find them, Keller takes the law into his own hands, but in the process runs up against the big city detective (Jake Gyllenhaal) assigned to the case and butts heads with Keller.

Howard's role has yet to be revealed.

Melissa Leo, Viola Davis, Maria Bello and Paul Dano also star.

Incendies helmer Denis Villeneuve's calling action on the film.

This one's been around for quite some time folks...Over the years directors like Antoine Fuqua and Bryan Singer, and actors like Christian Bale, Mark Wahlberg Leonardo DiCaprio and even Jackman have all been attached at one point in in time. All of them dropped out for various reasons.

Principal photography starts in February--targeting a fall 2013 release.
