Matheson's The Shrinking Man Gets Reboot

MGM has won the film rights to author Richard Matheson's classic sci-fi novel "The Shrinking Man" says Heat Vision

The story centers on a man who is exposed to radiation and insecticide and begins to shrink. The plan is to do a contemporary version of the story which will retain the same tone, but update the technology.

Matheson and his son Richard Matheson Jr. will write the screenplay for what is being described as an "existential action" movie.

The story was first adapted on-screen as 1957's "The Incredible Shrinking Man" and then came the comedy satire "The Incredible Shrinking Woman" in 1981.
