Pratt Lands "Guardians" Star-Lord Role

Chris Pratt is nearing a deal to lead James Gunn's Marvel superhero movie "Guardians Of The Galaxy" says Deadline.


The Guardians of the Galaxy comic book follows a US pilot who ends up in space during a universal conflict, then is forced to go on the run with a band of futuristic alien ex-cons.

Pratt comes out of nowhere beatiing out a long list of casting potentials for Peter Quill/Star-Lord -The character is an interplanetary policeman and the Guardians leader who is born of a human mother and alien father

The great Joseph Gordon-Levitt joined the Quill casting fray for a bit. Former Smallville bad guy Michael Rosenbaum Jim Sturgess, Zachary Levi ("Chuck") Joel Edgerton, Jack Huston, Lee Pace and Eddie Redmayne The studio was also said to be interested in Garrett Hedlund, James Marsden and Sullivan Stapleton have been in thick of this as well. Wes Bentley, Chris Lowell and Cam Gigandet were the most recent names added

Screenwriter Chris McCoy was recently hired to rewrite the Nicole Perlman’s original script.

Production starts this Summer in London The film arrives August 1, 2014.
