The story is based on author Mark Seal's 2011 book about German-born imposter Christian Gerhartsreiter who passed himself off as a member of the Rockefeller family named Clark and got away with it for decades until his marriage ended and he was arrested for kidnapping his daughter. Later he was charged in with an L.A. murder from back in 1985.
Donald De Line will produce and is looking a writer to adapt the script.
"Crazy Heart" writer-director Scott Cooper was previously attached to the film back in 2011.
