Transformers Sequel NOT A Reboot...

During a recently published chat with Forbes magazine Michael Bay confirmed that producton on the as yet "Untitled Transformers Sequel" is due to begin in May.

The new film folows a high school student, and daughter of Mark Wahlberg's character, and her racecar driver boyfriend--Jack Reynor--who is expected to be signed for three-picture deal.

Bay also adds that the film isn't so much a reboot as a refresh:

"To freshen the franchise, we redesigned everything. The history of the first three movies is still there. We start four years later and there's a reason why we're meeting a new cast. We keep the 'Transformers' the way they were. It's just four years later. There's a reason the Transformers are redesigned. We're trying to broaden the franchise and give it more places to go."

Isabelle Cornish Andie MacDowell's real-life daughter Rainey Qualley and Gabriella Wilde were in the mix to play the daughter.

Ehren Kruger ("Transformers: Dark of the Moon") is writing the script for the Bay directed fourth film which hits theaters on June 27th, 2014
