Bautista Close To Getting Drax Role In "Guardians"

First they claimed that Jason Momoa had won the role of Drax The Destroyer in James Gunn's Marvel superhero movie "Guardians Of The Galaxy" now Latino Review says that WWE
superstar Dave Bautista is the top contender for the role.


It seems a deal could not be reached with Momoa

Isaiah Mustafa and Brian Patrick Wade were also contenders for the role.

The Guardians of the Galaxy comic book follows a US pilot who ends up in space during a universal conflict, then is forced to go on the run with a band of futuristic alien ex-cons.

Drax the Destroyer was born as the human Arthur Douglas, whose family was attacked and murdered by the villainous Thanos. Arthur's spirit was then placed into a powerful new body by Kronos, which resulted in Drax the Destroyer's creation. The superhero's powers include incredible strength and the ability to emit energy blasts from his hands.

Chris Pratt will play Peter Quill/Star-Lord-The character is an interplanetary policeman and the Guardians leader who is born of a human mother and alien father

Screenwriter Chris McCoy was recently hired to rewrite the Nicole Perlman’s original script.

Production starts this Summer in London The film arrives August 1, 2014.
