Is JT The New Daddy Warbucks For "Annie" Remake?

This is very interesting...

Page Six reports that Justin Timberlake is talks to play the role of Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks in the upcoming remake of "Annie".

Until now Warbucks has been potrayed as a middle aged man--I like the fact that---assuming the report is true--the tean is thinking outside the box here. And let's face it JT can do the role and is quite popular just with new music being released, a recent appearance as the host of Saturday Night Live brought in record ratings and the fact that he is popular across multiple demos means he can put butts in the seats

Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis ("Beasts of the Southern Wild") will star as the iconic big-hearted orphan adopted by Warbucks in this contemporary update of the classic Musical and Comic Strip.

Will Gluck will direct the project and is currently revising the screenplay by Emma Thompson and Aline Brosh McKenna.

James Lassiter, Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith, Jay Z, Jay Brown and Tyran 'Ty-Ty' Smith
will produce the film.

At one time Will and Jada's daughter Willow was considered for the lead.

A Christmas 2014 release is planned.
