Alfredson Adapts "Brothers Lionhear"

Director Tomas Alfredson will call action on a film adaptation of author Astrid Lindgren's
children book "The Brothers Lionheart" says MovieZine via The Playlist.

Set in a magical land of the afterlife, the story follows two brothers who join the resistance against an evil ruler who enforces control over the land with a dragon.

The tome has been descibed as "unflinchingly" dark and subversive.

"Let the Right One In" writer John Ajvide Lindqvist is writing the adapted script,

The $50 million project, currently targeting a Christmas 2014 release, will be the most expensive Scandinavian production in history.

The project looks to have taken priority over the Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy follow-up "Smiley's People" which remains in development.
