Carrie Redux Trailer--They Are Gong To Laugh At You

The first full length trailer for the Carrie remake is here...

Based on author Stephen King's book--the 1976 film directed by Brian De Palma is a horror classic about a timid and tortured girl (Sissy Spacek) who uses her telekinetic powers to punish her tormentors.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, a playwright who was brought in to rework the troubled Broadway production Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark, is writing the new script which is said to be both more faithful and more realistic than the previous 1976 version. Kimberly Peirce ("Boys Don't Cry") called action.

Julianne Moore nabbed the role of Carrie's (Chloe Moretz) abusive, fundamentalist Christian mother, Margaret White, played in the original De Palma film by Oscar nominee Piper Laurie. The Three Musketeers Gabriella Wilde has won the role of Carrie's school ally Sue Snell. Judy Greer is lined up to play Miss Collins, the gym teacher. Portia Doubleday will play chief antagonist Chris Hargensen the popular girl that Nancy Allen played in the original Alex Russell plays a school bully as well.

The film had a March 15th, 2013 release date that was pushed back until October 18, 2013

I have to say that as remakes go--Moretz and Moore look very strong here...Things look decidely better than 2002 TV Movie version or the equally bad  theatrical sequel The Rage: Carrie 2.
