Dodgeball 2 Gets Rolling With A Writer Hired

There's a Dodgeball sequel in the works says THR.

The original 2004 comedy from writer/director Rawson Marshall Thurber's saw Vince Vaughn's team of Average Joes climbing the tournament ranks to square off against Ben Stiller's steroid-laden Globo-Gym team.

The notion of a follow-up has been discussed but until now no action was taken.

Clay Tarver (Joyride) has been hired to pen the sequel script that will have the enemies teaming up to take on an even bigger threat.

Stiller and Stuart Cornfeld will produce the film.

The original film grossed more than $114 million domestically on a reported budget of $20 million.

For the record I HATE the original....
