The film is based on the true story of how sports agent J.B. Bernstein (Jon Hamm) discovered professional pitchers Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel through a reality show he staged in India using cricket players.
For now it is unclear which pitcher Sharma will play at this point.
Alan Arkin will play a retired baseball scout.
Tom McCarthy ("Win Win") wrote the script from which Craig Gillespie's going to call action.
Mark Ciardi, Gordon Gray, Joe Roth and Palak Patel will produce the film.
Shooting begins next month in Mumbai and Atlanta.
