McCallany Takes Charge Of Hemsworth In Mann's Next

Holt McCallany has joined in on "Heat" and "Collateral" director Michael Mann's as yet Untitled Cyberthriller says Deadline.

"Thor" star Chris Hemsworth will take the lead role in the project. Mann has been location scouting around Hong Kong, and the likes of Wei Tang, Cheung Ka-fai and Shawn Yue have all reportedly had meetings with Mann about acting in the pic.


McCallany will play a street-smart U.S. Marshal put in charge of the custody of Hemsworth’s character.

Viola Davis also stars as the female lead.

Mann is co-writing the script with Morgan Davis Foehl (Mass Effect) and has been developing the project for over a year.

 Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are producing the movie.
 
Production begins in June in China.

This will be Mann's first directing effort since 2009's "Public Enemies".
