Knightley Plays "The Imitation Game"

Variety reports that Keira Knightley is in talks to join the long-awaited "The Imitation Game".

The film deals with Alan Turing (Benedict Cumberbatch), an English mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst, computer scientist, criminally prosecuted and chemically castrated homosexual, and tortured soul who committed suicide by eating a cyanide-laced apple. Turing was highly influential in the founding of computer science and artificial intelligence, along with devising techniques for breaking German ciphers during the Second World War. He was also one of the earliest to explore the biological process of morphogenesis.

Knightley's role is as yet unknown but one would assume it's the female lead

Graham Moore’s script is based on the biography by Andrew Hodges.

Teddy Schwarzman, Nora Grossman and Ido Ostrowsky will produce.

Throughout it's history J Blakeson became attached to direct....after Ron Howard who was reportedly interested in directing the film in 2011 and  wanted Leonardo DiCaprio to play Turing but moved on---and as a result of Leo's decision Warners is letting go of the rights. Now--Scandinavian director Morten Tyldum will direct.
