Paglen was previously linked, but now it seems that Scott likes his take on the direction that the story should go. As a result, official negotiations are now underway.
Paglen would replace Damon Lindelof who wrote the first Prometheus script following the work of Jon Spaihts who wrote the first script draft which made $403 million worldwide at the box-office.
It's expected this sequel will further distance itself from the "Alien"-related elements of the first film.
Paglen also wrote "The Dark Knight" cinematographer Wally Pfister's directorial debut "Transcendence", which stars Johnny Depp, Paul Bettany, Rebecca Hall Cillian Murphy Morgan Freeman Clifton Collins Jr. and Kate Mara.
