Cumberbatch Leaves GdT's "Crimson Peak"

Benedict Cumberbatch has left the gothic horror film "Crimson Peak" says Heat Vision. No reason was given for the Cunby's departure. He recently signed to lend his vocal talents to the animated film spin off  The Penguins of Madagascar.


Guillermo del Toro and Lucinda Coxon  (The Heart of Me, The Eternal Not) are rewriting the original script by del Toro and Matthew Robbins that is described as a classic ghost story with a modern twist. It will center on a woman (Mia Wasikowska) who suspects her husband is hiding something,

Charlie Hunnam and Jessica Chastain also star.

del Toro will also direct the pic with cameras set to roll early next year.

Cumby marks the second cast member to leave the film Wasikowska stepped into the role Emma Stone was originally attached to play.
