Penn Badgley Tapped For "Cymbeline"

Penn Badgley has joined the cast of director Michael Almereyda's modern day adaption of a William Shakespeare's play called Cymbeline says Deadline.

Shakespeare’s play centered on the daughter of the British king Cymbeline, who discovers she has secretly married a man raised in her father’s court, resulting in his banishment from the court.

Described as "Sons of Anarchy" meets Baz Luhrmann's "Romeo + Juliet" the film will trace a battle between dirty cops and a drug dealing biker gang set in a corruption-fueled 21st century America.

Badgley would play the key role of Posthumus.

Ethan Hawke and Ed Harris also star.

Anthony Katagas will produce.

Production begins on August 19th in New York City
