Fede Alvarez Chart's Dante's Inferno Game Flick

"The Evil Dead" remake director Fede Alvarez will helm the film adaptation of Electronic Arts video game Dante's Inferno says Deadline.

The 2010 game is inspired by the first third of Dante Alighieri's 14th century epic poem, "The Divine Comedy". In the game, Dante is now a Templar Knight who must travel the nine circles of Hell to rescue his beloved Beatrice's soul. The layout of Hell in the game is directly inspired by the poem.

Jay Basu writes the current script after Bruce McKenna penned the first draft.
