MOS 2: Potential Titles & Roven Talks Bat-fleck, Script

While Zack Snyder's upcoming Superman/Batman team-up Man of Steel Sequel has been refereed to by the title of  "Batman vs. Superman" for months--it seems as though the studio is keen on retaining the "Man of Steel" moniker while adding a Bat-subtitle.

Fusible reports that the studio suits have recently registered several domain names that hint at what the movie may end up being called.

The list includes:

"Man of Steel: Battle the Knight"

"Man of Steel: Beyond Darkness"

"Man of Steel: Black of Knight"

"Man of Steel: Darkness Falls"

"Man of Steel: Knight Falls"

"Man of Steel: Shadow the Night"

"Man of Steel: The Blackest Hour"

"Man of Steel: The Darkness Within"

MOS 2 will see the return of Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Ben Affleck will play Bruce Wayne/Batman amid lots of fallout--while Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane are set to reprise their roles as Lois Lane, Perry White and Martha Kent.

Producer  Charles Roven spoke to Variety about the film...

"On Batman Vs. Superman, we started soft prep in June, and we'll be shooting eight months later. We felt that we accomplished our goals with Man of Steel, our intention was to bring Superman into the 21st century with a contemporary character and a different kind of superhero than what's out there right now. We knew we had created a world and we had left Easter eggs in the movie that let people know that in the universe that Zack was creating, there was the possibility of other DC characters besides Clark Kent. We had a sketch of an idea, the beats of a story that David S. Goyer worked on with Zack. We have a first draft, and we're continuing to work with it. Those scripts are never fully finished until the movie is in the theaters. We love the characters - we think that Ben is going to be a really great and interesting Batman."

He also spoke about choosing Affleck as Bats:

"We wanted a guy who had a certain age and a certain gravitas to what he had done in terms of his recent work. If you take a look at The Town and Argo, he plays a couple of serious guys in those movies. He's a big man. He's also a mature man. As you see him and Henry together, one definitely has much more experience just by looking at him. That's what we wanted, particularly juxtaposed against our Superman."

Those reports that suggested that the chatter about former "Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston playing Lex Luthor in the upcoming movie were true have now been denied by the actor.

Singer Justin Bieber uploaded a photo on his Instagram account showing him holding up what appeared to be a personalized script for the film with the hashtag "#Robin" but it turned out to be a prop for a Funny or Die skit.

There's been noise that the production is seeking is a love interest for the Dark Knight in the film. The Type? A woman in their late 20s of any ethnicity. They do, however, specify that she be tall and "possess physicality".

The notice DID NOT give a name for the character, which led to speculation that it could anyone from Vicki Vale to Wonder Woman. A leaked casting call has fanboys thinking that Amazon warrior is in "Batman vs. Superman"

The chatter about former Bond girl and "Oblivion" star Olga Kurylenko showing up  Zack Snyder's upcoming Superman/Batman team-up Man of Steel Sequel has seemingly been confirmed by Variety. The trade adds that Gal Gadot ("Fast and Furious") and Elodie Yung ("G.I. Joe: Retaliation") are also in the mix testing for the female lead. Thor: The Dark World" actress is Jaimie Alexander is also linked.

A love interest for Bats suggests that he will have a larger part in the film than expected. It also could mean that other characters like Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred Pennyworth might show up as well.

In fact, rumors ran recently that Girls co-star Adam Driver is the frontrunner to play the character of Dick Grayson, the post-Robin Nightwing incarnation in the film. The original story mentioned that two other actors are in the mix for the role. Less than 24 hours later "Gossip Girl" and "Easy A" star Penn Badgley and "The Perks of Being A Wallflower" and "We Need To Talk About Kevin" star Ezra Miller were said to be in mix for the part. Driver denies any such talk

The speedster The Flash is said to be in the script.

Meantime: The star of The CW's popular Arrow TV series Stephen Amell posted a "Justice League" comic image on his official Facebook page.  We already know that Flash (Grant Gustin) will show up there for a few eps before getting his own show in 2014 Could more of DC Entertainment's "Justice League" be coming to "Arrow"?

These hero introductions would make sense if Warners is ever gonna make a "Justice League" movie.

"Man Of Steel" writer David S. Goyer will be back--as will Christopher Nolan to executive produce the film.

Sources say the new movie is going for the tone of the relationship and fight seen in Frank Miller’s 1980s ground-breaking mini-series The Dark Knight Returns.

The film will shoot in Detroit and throughout Michigan sometime in the first quarter of 2014. Warner Bros will also shoot the movie in Toronto to meet its release on July 17 2015. Some filming for the film's opening sequence is already in the can
