Will And Denzel Set To Work "Uptown Saturday Night"

"Forgetting Sarah Marshall" director Nicholas Stoller is set to rewrite the script for the remake of the 1974 Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier buddy comedy "Uptown Saturday Night" says Variety. Tim Dowling (Role Models) wrote the initial script draft.

Will Smith and Denzel Washington will star as two friends who sneak out to visit a high-class but illegal club. Trouble soon follows.

Adam McKay is due to direct the pic and wants this to be his next film. Stoller plans to a deliver a draft in the next month. Both stars must be happy with the latest draft or the project won't happen.

Smith and James Lassiter are producing the update.

If the film does go ahead, production is expected to begin by Summer.
