The fact that Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye hasn't appeared in any Phase 2 films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be addressed in "Ultron" and both he and Mark Ruffalo's Hulk will have "very big parts" in the follow-up since the pair didn't get their own stand alone films.
Asked if Clark Gregg's Agent Phil Coulson could appear, Feige says "I probably shouldn't answer for any number of reasons."
He also confirmed Anthony Mackie's Falcon will NOT appear in 'Ultron' - something Mackie himself suspected as much thi s week in a recent interview.
Feige confirms Scarlett Johansson's pregnancy did NOT lead to any rewrites of the script for Black Widow but some of the film's schedule has been shifted around. Despite those comments, Mackie says he'd heard that Joss is doing rewrites of some sort.
Finally, is Paul Bettany playing The Vision in the film? "I don’t think we’ve officially said anything. But other people said things."
Some non principal filming is taking place in South Africa Production on the 'Avengers' sequel is slated to begin in earnest later this month to meet a release date of May 1, 2015.
Meantime: Did you know that Marvel's "The Avengers" was initially given an R rating by the Motion Picture Association of America...Not once but TWICE?
Speaking with with Movies.com, Feige says: "When we submitted The Avengers, the first couple cuts of it came back from the MPAA rated R. That happened twice. So we went back and had to make adjustments."
The demise of Agent Coulson was the big problem: "Whenever you impale somebody from their back and the blade comes out their chest, there are issues".
Coulson was resurrected on TV's "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
