Reporter Nikki Finke shared the scoop via Twitter, saying that the pair are set to replace Ivan Reitman who skipped out on calling action the film earlier this week.
The pair have a strong relationship with Sony Pictures who've released all their films to date.
They are finishing up "22 Jump Street" for a June bow and haven't announced their next film yet, thus they could move forward quickly, after a polish Etan Cohen's script.
