Grahame-Smith Charts "Something Wicked This Way Comes" Redo

Deadline reports that "Dark Shadows" and "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" scribe Seth Grahame-Smith is set to make his feature directorial debut on a new film adaptation of author Ray Bradbury's novel "Something Wicked This Way Comes" at Disney.

The story follows Mr. Dark, the proprietor of a traveling carnival who preys on a small town by making deals for the townsfolk's souls in exchange for the dreams that each one desires.

Grahame-Smith will write a treatment, the studio will then hire a writer to work on the script while Grahame-Smith continues his wok on a "Beetlejuice 2" script.

David Katzenberg will produce the film.

Disney previously adapted the book for the big screen back in 1983 where Bradbury penned the adapted script, but later expressed disappointment that much of it got muddled.

Grahame-Smith says he plans to ignore the film and return to the book, and will include some of the classic scenes missing from the previous film.
