The Fault In Our Stars Gets A Longer Peek

An extended trailer for the film adaptation of author John Green's young adult novel The Fault in Our Stars is online...

The story follows Hazel ("The Descendants" co-star Shailene Woodley) a sixteen-year-old cancer patient, who is forced by her parents to attend a support group. She soon meets and falls in love with seventeen-year-old Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort), an ex-basketball player and leg amputee.

Laura Dern will play Hazel's mom. True Blood's Sam Trammell plays Hazel's Dad in the film. Nat Wolff has won the pivotal role of Isaac-a close friend of Augustus who is responsible for bringing him to the teenage cancer support group where Augustus and Hazel first meet. Comedian Mike Birbiglia plays the role of Patrick the adult leader of the teen cancer support group. Willem Dafoe will play Peter Van Houten is a reclusive, ornery, alcoholic author  whose book, An Imperial Affliction about a cancer stricken girl, captivates Hazel

Filmmaker Josh Boone, whose film Stuck In Love made a splash at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2012 had the job of directing the film. Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber wrote the adapted screenplay.

Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey will produce the pic.

The film hits theaters June 6, 2014.

I know films like this are a dine a dozen but the chemistry between Woodley and Elgort is palpable

Woodley and Elgort played siblings in Summit Entertainment's big screen adaptation of author Veronica Roth's young adult dystopian novel "Divergent"
