The creeper follows a young journalist (Fuller) who investigates a religious cult's terrifying prophecy after the paranormal murder of his younger sister (Parker).
Barton will play the editor boss and love interest of Fuller's while Shankar will play an intimidating member of the cult.
Final Destination franchise creator Jeffrey Reddick, conceived the project and will share story credit with Alex Bram, who will make his feature directorial debut here.
Bram also co-wrote the script with Martin Aguilera.
Reddick who also will produce the pic said:“The more we discussed the story, the more I realized that this had such a rich mythology, and strong characters, that we were talking about a franchise that I believe can be just as successful as ‘Final Destination.' It's a riveting, edge-of-your seat ride, and Alex and Martin Aguilera really knocked the script out of the park”.
The film starts production this fall in Los Angeles.
