"The Flintstones" Back On Big Screen

Will Ferrell and Adam McKay will executive produce a new animated feature based on the classic 1960's cartoon "The Flintstones" says Deadline.

Created by Hanna-Barbera the show premiered in 1960 and ran for six seasons before going into syndication for decades.

The stone age family was brought to life on the big screen in 1994 first in The Flintstones and then again for 2000's less successful prequel The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas...These live action films did a good job at capturing the spirit of the classic TV series.

Several attempts have been made to revive the Fred and the gang. Now, like The Smurfs Warner Bros decided to forgo live-action CG hybrid in favor of a full-length animated adventure.
