Andrej Pejic Tipped For Sofia Coppola's "The Little Mermaid"

Australian model Andrej Pejic is reportedly joining the cast of the live action version of author Hans Christian Andersen's classic fairy tale "The Little Mermaid" says The BBC. The androgynous male model has found most success modelling women's clothing.

The story deals with a mermaid willing to make a Faustian bargain to live on land after she falls in love.

 Sofia Coppola ("Lost in Translation" "The Bling Ring") is poised to direct the project that at one time had Joe Wright attached to helm, he committed to "Pan" instead.

Caroline Thompson ("Edward Scissorhands") is currently rewriting previous script drafts by Kelly Marcel and Abi Morgan.

 Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce the film .
