The story centers on two adult siblings (Amy Poehler and Tina Fey ) who decide to throw an immense party in their childhood home just before it is sold, and learn lessons about growing up in the process.
Brolin is slated to play the father of Fey and Poehler's in the movie.
Ike Barinholtz also stars.
Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) is due to direct from a script by Saturday Night Live writer Paula Pell.
Jay Roach John C. Lyons and Tina Fey are producing . Amy Poehler is executive producing alongside Jeff Richmond and Brian Bell.
Production starts this month to meet its release on December 18, 2015.
