"G.I. Joe 3" Nets New Writer

Jonathan Lemkin ("Shooter," "Devil's Advocate") has been hired to take over the scripting duties for G.I. Joe 3 reports Variety. Snow White and the Huntsman writer Evan Daugherty previously worked on the script for Hasbro and Paramount.

The sequel will bring back "The Rock" Dwayne Johnson’s character Roadblock.

"G.I. Joe: Retaliation" director Jon M.Chu was due back behind the camera, now that's no longer the case.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura returns to produce the latest installment

The film hopes to get into production by the second quarter of 2015 ahead of a Summer 2016 debut.
