Joe Cornish May Move To "Skull Island"

"Attack the Block" director Joe Cornish has reportedly been offered to chart the upcoming King Kong reboot "Skull Island" for Legendary Pictures says Deadline.

The origin story will deal with the giant gorilla and his life on an island of prehistoric monsters before he was taken into captivity.

"Godzilla" scribe Max Borenstein will pen the script for the film which was announced this past weekend at San Diego Comic-Con. The film is targeting a November 2016 release.

Cornish's next film is the spy thriller "Section 6". The story deals with the formation of British spy agency MI6 during World War I, and its first director Sir George Mansfield Cummings (the inspiration for M in the James Bond Series). Jack O'Connell is pegged to star.
