SDCC 2014: "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" & Beyond

Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller were on hand at San Diego Comic-Con to promote "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," for The Weinstein Company.

There are nine years between the first Sin City film and the sequel, Miller promised that 'Sin City 3' is already in the works.

"Robert and I are already talking about Sin City 3, so you’d better show up to 2" Miller advised the Hall H crowd.--adding "I'll be damned if it takes us nine years for the next one."

Rodriguez revealed that "80 percent of the score was written on my phone".

The filmmakers also screened the opening sequence of  "A Dame to Kill For," the scene in question adapted from the yarn Just Another Saturday Night.

We see Marv (Mickey Rourke) as he comes upon a group of young frat boy sadists trying to burn a homeless man alive and dolls out his own kind of justice. There were also scenes involving Nancy  (Jessica Alba) stripping and a car chase.

Alba says audiences will be surprised at how much  Nancy changes by the end of the movie - "Nancy was so sweet and she was a victim in the first one and in this one people will be pleasantly surprised to see her turn into a warrior."

Rourke and Josh Brolin as Dwight never actually acted together, despite the duo sharing numerous scenes in the film. The pair's schedules simply never matched, but thanks to green screen it didn't matter. Brolin said that he filmed his scenes after Rourke had done all his.

A new red-band trailer for the film is set to debut tomorrow.
