Lee Daniels Charts "The Brian Banks Story"

THR reports that Lee Daniels ("Precious," "The Butler") will direct the biopic "The Brian Banks Story".

The project centers on the true story of Brian Banks an All-American high school football player falsely accused of rape. A hasty plea bargain resulted in him serving more than five years in prison and having to register as a sex offender. His conviction was overturned in 2012, and, after a decade hiatus, he returned to football and joined the Atlanta Falcons in April 2013.

The project is currently searching for writers.
