Ann Dowd Gets Political In “Our Brand is Crisis”

Variety reports that Ann Dowd has joined the cast of the political comedy “Our Brand is Crisis”

Peter Straughan ("The Men Who Stare at Goats") wrote the adapted script based on Rachel Boynton's 2005 documentary that focused on the use of American political campaign strategies in Bolivia by President Bill Clinton's former consultants James Carville and Stan Greenberg.

Sandra Bullock will play 'Calamity' Jane Bodine, a retired American political consultant who quotes famous people to hammer home her talking points.

Billy Bob Thornton Scoot McNairy and Anthony Mackie also star in the pic.

Bullock's "Gravity" co-star George Clooney is set to produce the film with his pal Grant Heslov.

Production begins this Fall.
