It has been widely thought that Fox's upcoming thriller Gone Girl would sport a reconfigured last act so that
it would offer a different ending than that of author Gillian Flynn's novel.
Now, a writer for The New York Times
saw the film at a private screening and says that the film ultimately sticks closer to the book. If there are changes they may be more
mild and on thematic level.
Based on author Gillian Flynn's novel, Ben Affleck stars as a husband whose wife (one time frontrunner Rosamund Pike) disappears during their fifth anniversary - leaving him the prime suspect for her murder.
Model/actress Emily Ratajkowski, who appeared in singer Robin Thicke's controversial music video Blurred Lines would play Andie, the college-age mistress to Affleck’s Nick. David Clennon (House of Cards")
will play Rand Elliot, the father of the woman. He begins to suspect
his son-in-law as the investigation into his daughter’s disappearance
grows and her absence lingers Tyler Perry co-stars as a slick defense attorney and Carrie Coon is Nick's twin sister. Neil Patrick Harris is Desi Collins
Flynn wrote the first draft of the adapted script, from which David Fincher directed
Reese Witherspoon Bruna Papandrea and Leslie Dixon will produce the film.
The movie will be in theaters on October 3rd.
I was kind of looking forward to seeing what they would do with the ending, but it's okay that it's staying the same too. Even if I didn't like how the book ended, it was pretty ballsy and against the norm.
