The rumored story is believed to revolve around Original Trilogy space smuggler Han Solo and his wookie co-pilot Chewbacca.
"Godzilla" reboot director Gareth Edwards is going to direct the film which will be released in between J J. Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" and"Looper" and "Brick" writer-director Rian Johnson's "Star Wars: Episode VIII". There's also rumors that elements from the spin-off will overlap with Ep VIII.
No word on what role Paul would play .
Production on the project is expected to get underway at Pinewood Studio sometime in 2015, likely after the currently shooting James Bond film "Spectre" wraps. It is currently targeting a late 2016 release.
Paul played Luke Skywalker during the recent live read of The Empire Strikes Back directed by
Jason Reitman.
