Robert Rodriguez Pegged For Fire & Ice Redux

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For helmer Robert Rodriguez is ready to direct his long in the works live-action remake of  Ralph Bakshi and Frank Frazetta's 1983 animated  film "Fire and Ice" says Variety.


Gerry Conway and Roy Thomas wrote the original, a fantasy adventure in which a villager and the princess of the land of Firekeep team to stop the evil Queen of Icepeak from destroying the world with glaciers.

The original film used rotoscoping, the technique where animation is drawn on top of live action. But Rodriguez's version will use to the green screen tech of his "Sin City" films.

Rodriguez has written several drafts of the adapted script

Gary Michael Walters, Matthew Rhodes and Michel Litvak have been funding the preliminary work on the project.
