Alfred Hitchcock's 1951 film classic starred Farley Granger and Robert Walker as two strangers meeting on a train who strike up a conversation. Each has someone they want to get out of the way, so the socialite proposes they 'swap murders' and thus the killings could not be traced back to them.
This new version shifts the premise from a train to a private plane. Affleck will play a movie star in the middle of awards season campaigning. When his private plane breaks down, he is given a ride to LA on another plane by a wealthy and dangerous stranger.

Affleck's Pearl Street Films production company will produce. Jennifer Todd will serve as a exec producer,
The project is moving fast with Affleck making time to shoot the film between his work directing the film adaptation of author Dennis Lehane's novel "Live by Night" and his filming commitments to the "Justice League" movie. Fincher and Flynn are busy prepping their "Utopia " remake for HBO.
A teen infused version of Strangers on a Train is in the pipeline--In this take the film follows a young teenage boy and girl with the later turning out to be a "raving psychopath".
