"Asteroids" Flick Gets New Scribe

Heat Vision reports that F. Scott Frazier ("Autobahn") will pen a rewrite of the script for the proposed film based on the classic arcade game "Asteroids".

The game features a spaceship in an asteroid field, with the player's objective to shoot the giant rocks hurtling at it in order to avoid destruction.

At last report the film would follow two estranged brothers who are forced to team up to save Earth from invading aliens.

Matt Lopez, Evan Spiliotopoulos and Jez Butterworth all wrote earlier drafts.
