Who Gets What In The "Spider-Man" Deal

Further details about the specifics of the deal between Sony Pictures and Marvel to have "Spider-Man" start appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are still coming out...Not much has actually changed when it comes to Sony's handling of the Spidey film series.

Variety reports that "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" is officially cancelled-=but the previously announced spin-off films "The Sinister Six," "Venom" and the Untitled Female Superhero Spider-Man Movie are still in active development.

Marvel's Kevin Feige is producing the new Spider-Man Solo Movie with exiting Sony chief Amy Pascal for a July 28th 2017 release, but he is NOT involved in any of the announced spinoffs. It's unclear if Drew Goddard or Alex Kurtzman are still charting "Sinister Six" and "Venom" respectively, but "Sinister Six" will NOT be released in November 2016.

How much money has changed hands in the deal? - $0. Marvel won't pay Sony any fee to put Spider-Man in "Captain America: Civil War," the "Avengers" sequels or other superhero films, and Sony won't receive a percentage of the revenue Disney makes from Marvel’s films that include Spider-Man.

Conversely. Marvel won't receive a cut of the box office for any of Sony's films that feature Spider-Man and potentially some of the other MCU heroes. Additionally Feige won't receive any payment for his role in helping revive the franchise.
