Last week TrekMovie.com reported that Paramount was ‘close’ to signing an actor to play Captain Christopher Pike in the Star Trek reboot and now they have made it official...According to the Hollywood Reporter the role of Pike in JJ Abrams new Trek has gone to Bruce Greenwood
The 51 year-old Canadian is a well known character actor with 90 TV and film credits. He most recently starred in the HBO series John From Cincinnati.
Greenwood makes for a solid choice as Pike. Anyone who has seen his excellent turn as President John F. Kennedy in Thirteen Days already knows that he can play a leader.
