Director Ridley Scott is returning to the genre that put him on the map....
He will helm a big screen version of author to Joe Haldeman's 1974 sci-fi novel The Forever War according to Variety.
The project would mark Scott's first first foray in the future since back-to-back classics "Alien" and "Blade Runner"
Scott planned to film the project back in the 80's but rights complications delayed him for more than two decades.
The story revolves around a soldier who battles an enemy in deep space for only a few months, only to return home to a planet he doesn't recognize some 20 years later.
The search for a to adapt the script is about to get underway as Scott preps "Nottingham".
This is good news... Scott's other two sci-fi films are about as perfect for the genre as they can be...
