Wall 2 Wall

THR says that plans are moving forward with "Money Never Sleeps" a sequel to 1987's "Wall Street".

Allan Loeb is doing a rewrite of the screenplay which will again center on the first film's antagonist Gordon Gekko. The convicted investor has recently been let out of prison and re-emerges into a much more tumultuous financial world than the one he abruptly left

Michael Douglas oozed the the role in the original and though not formally attached, he's likely to return pending script approval.

Bud Fox (Charlie Sheen) will not return.

As much as the current climate may lend itself to the project and that's one of Douglas' signature roles, I actually think that a follow-up would be a mistake. It only serves to ruin the first film. Douglass was smart to stay away from Basic Instinct 2 and he should do the same here...
